I'm a Survivor

As I prepare to make the move to graduate school, I've decided to put together some reflections on the experience and throw them out into cyberspace.  The process was a rough one, but worked out (along with a long-distance relationship often strained by the demands of this process).  I'll be starting a PhD Program in Comparative Literature in the fall with the support of a wonderful, understanding, and patient man.

What I write here reflects my own experiences, and I hope that this bit of cyber fluff aids at least one person making the plunge into the graduate application process.  Anyone with differing opinions and experiences is encouraged to pipe in and provide advice to the next generation.  Hopefully, when I teach undergrads going through the same process, the information here will still be relevant.

Expect posts on everything from finances to GRE prep to seeking out the right letters of recommendation.
